Whether you are an undergraduate or you already have a Bachelor’s Degree but have not begun teacher preparation coursework, you are eligible to receive multiple support services through the Para-professional Teachers Training Program (PTTP).

Financial Assistance

The Kern County Superintendent of Schools (KCSOS) PTTP uses a third-party pay system that applies funds toward registration fees and books. This service is provided to all participants who complete their annual program documentation as required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).

We encourage our participants to apply for additional financial assistance that supports you in your studies.

  • Test Review & Academic Tutoring:
    RICA – Reading Instruction Competency Assessment
    CSET –  California Subject Examinations for Teachers
  • Academic Tutoring:
    Are you struggling with a particular class or content area? PTTP works with college and university tutoring programs as well as private tutors to assist you.Complete and submit the Tutor Request Form to receive this invaluable support resource.
  • Cohort Meetings:
    Accelerate your learning, invigorate your aspirations, and leave with practical ideas that you can use right away to help you succeed in your goal of becoming a teacher.Subjects include:

    – Time Management
    – Creative Use of Technology
    – Classroom Management
    – ELL Strategies
